Wicknell Chivayo has gifted a 2026 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 2.4 GD6 and US$50,000 to Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Member of Parliament Susan Matsunga.

Chivayo said Matsunga, who represents Budiriro North in the National Assembly, demonstrated what he described as a rare level of political maturity after she publicly commended President Emmerson Mnangagwa during the unveiling of boreholes under the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme in Mufakose, Harare, a few weeks ago.

“Despite being labelled a ‘SELLOUT’ by fellow opposition members, she chose to put her CONSTITUENCY FIRST and expressed her DEEPEST GRATITUDE to President Mnangagwa and ZANU PF for ensuring that the residents of Budiriro North have access to CLEAN and SAFE WATER,” wrote Chivayo on X on Tuesday.

“While others spend ALL their time on social media demanding ‘NEW LEADERS’ or abandoning their own party, then claim that ‘GOD IS IN IT,’ this is one opposition MP who has chosen to SERVE the people who voted for her in TRUTH.

“Ironically, it is the same OPPOSITION-LED City of Harare that has DISMALLY FAILED to deliver basic water supply to the residents, yet when their MP thanks the SECOND REPUBLIC for drilling boreholes, they CRITICIZE her and claim she is a sellout.”

Chivayo claimed that Matsunga has demonstrated that being an MP is not merely a title, but a mandate from the people that must be delivered upon.

“Just by acknowledging the PRESIDENT and the benefits of the Presidential Borehole Scheme irrespective of its political source, you have set yourself apart from the rest and I choose to CELEBRATE you today…

“It is in recognition of your COURAGE and INTEGRITY that I am glad to extend my sincere appreciation to you, my sister.

“Subject to your OWN HEIRACHY in the CCC approving and even yourself agreeing, please GO AND SEE VICTOR at Exquisite Car Dealership and collect your brand new 2026 TOYOTA FORTUNER 4×4 2,4 GD6 that has been fully paid for.

“You will also receive US$50,000 to be channelled towards COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT and EMPOWERING the youth and women in Budiriro North.”

Chivayo said the gifts were not intended to induce Matsunga to abandon the Citizens Coalition for Change, but were instead a gesture of appreciation for what he described as her political maturity and exemplary leadership as a Member of Parliament.

He, however, stressed that ZANU-PF maintains an open-door policy, adding that should Matsunga choose to join the party, she would be welcomed with open arms.

Matsunga, a former close ally of Nelson Chamisa, had recently drawn attention after praising President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his adviser Paul Tungwarara following the drilling of a borehole in Mufakose, Harare.

On Tuesday, 14 April, Tungwarara officially handed over boreholes drilled in Budiriro North Constituency, an opposition stronghold, under the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme.

The event was attended by ZANU-PF Central Committee members, including Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Godwills Masimirembwa.

Addressing the gathering, Matsunga referred to President Mnangagwa as “Daddy”, adding that she was “proud” of him for what she described as a “miracle” never before witnessed in her constituency.
