Two NCA Members Abducted, Tortured And Stripped Naked

Two members of the National Constitution Assembly (NCA) were allegedly abducted, assaulted and later dumped in the Highlands suburb of Harare shortly after attending a meeting at the organisation’s offices on Thursday.

NCA leader Lovemore Madhuku said on Thursday evening that Naboth Sirora and Innocent Taruona were seized soon after leaving the party’s offices, where they had been meeting to discuss issues related to Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3.

According to Madhuku, the two men were taken by unidentified people to an unknown location, where they were assaulted before being abandoned in Highlands. He said:

“We had just finished our meeting, and two of our members were abducted and tortured.

“They were blindfolded and later dumped in Highlands without clothes.”

Last week, a member of the Constitution Defenders Forum (CDF), a civic group opposed to the proposed constitutional amendment, was allegedly abducted and tortured by unidentified men in Harare.
