Suspected Guruve serial killer Anymore Zvitsva is now facing 25 murder charges following a killing spree that has shocked the nation.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi told ZBC News that the 33-year-old is also facing charges of attempted murder and rape. Said Nyathi:
“Police can conclusively confirm that he is now facing 25 counts of murder. He is also facing three counts of attempted murder and two cases of rape, and then one case of rape and attempted murder. We will keep the public updated.”
It is also alleged that Zvitsva may have acted with accomplices who are still at large and that he could have sold body parts, possibly for ritual purposes. Said Nyathi:
“We are also conducting investigations in connection with the allegations that there were people who were assisting Zvitsva, and also that there are some people who were allegedly given or accessed some body parts from Zvitsva and paid some money. We are still verifying those allegations.”
Zvitsva recently appeared in court and was remanded in custody until 3 February 2026, following the addition of five new charges.
