Former Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa has revealed that some of his children are not biologically his.
Mliswa, a village head in Shurugwi, nicknamed “Bhuru” for his reputed virility and having fathered more than a dozen children with multiple women, said he still loves the children, but learning the truth has broken his heart.
Speaking to journalist Zigo at his rural home in the Midlands, Mliswa said the children in question do not yet know that he is not their biological father. He said:
“Let me tell you one thing. For the first time, because you came to my village and this is spiritual, I’ve done DNA’s to some of my children.
“For the first time, I’ll say some of them are not mine. But I look after them. It’s the most emotional part I have to tell you…
“I have tears, but I love the kids. I look after them because they’re innocent. It is a hard one for me.”
Temba Mliswa has publicly revealed that he has around 18 children with more than 10 different women, though some reports suggest the number could be 19 or more.
DNA tests have confirmed that Tinotenda Cripper Mliswa, born on 20 July 2021, is his son with Australia-based Susan Mutami.
In 2021, Mliswa said he provides for his children and pays their school fees, claiming to spend about US$25,000 per term as they attend top schools.
He has also shared photos of some of his children on social media, describing them as loved and unique.
