Teacher Found Dead In School Apartment In Mutare

Bothwell Chigweshe, a teacher at Derembwe Primary School in Zimunya, Mutare, was found dead in his school apartment on Sunday evening. Police have confirmed that no foul play is suspected.

Manicaland Acting Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, told Chipinge Times that Chigweshe had gone to bed intoxicated around 3 PM on Saturday last week.

Later that night, his housemaid, Shamiso Ruvivi, heard unusual noises coming from his room and alerted fellow teacher Mary Murehwe, 34. Murehwe checked the room and discovered Chigweshe had passed away.

A report was made at Muromo Police Post, and detectives attended the scene. They found no visible injuries on Chigweshe’s body.

The remains were subsequently taken to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital mortuary.
