13 ZCDC Staff Stuck In Chimanimani, Need Rescue
Chimanimani and Chipinge districts in Manicaland Province have borne the brunt of Tropical Cyclone Idai.
Massive destruction of infrastructure and loss of life have been experienced in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Local Government, in Chimanimani 21 deaths have been recorded, 100 houses collapsed and 40 people are reported missing at Ngangu Township due to mudfalls, rockfalls.
At St Charles Lwanga, in Chimanimani, rockfalls resulted in 2 deaths, one injury and the destruction of a dining hall.
30 people are missing, and there are collapsed homes in Rusita valley community.

Meanwhile, 13 ZCDC staff in Mawenje area have moved to higher ground and need to be rescued.
Chimanimani is not accessible by road from all angles.
Current weather conditions are making it difficult for the Zimbabwe National Army to rescue people in Chimanimani.
