The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, has sent his condolences to Mtukudzi’s loved ones. Posting on his Twitter, he said he is saddened by the loss.

Mtukudzi’s career spanned several decades since before Zimbabwe’s independence. He has more than 50 albums to his name and is known globally especially in Africa, Europe, and North America.
