The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed that the senior men’s national team, the Warriors, will participate in the Unity Cup 2026, a prestigious four-nation international tournament scheduled to take place in London.
In a statement released on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, ZIFA announced that the competition will be held at The Valley, the home of Charlton Athletic FC, from 26 to 30 May 2026.
Zimbabwe is set to compete against Nigeria, Jamaica, and India at the tournament.
This will be the first time the Warriors have competed in a tournament of this nature on English soil.
“Zimbabwe will face Nigeria in the opening semi-final on 26 May, with Jamaica taking on India on 27 May. Both matches kick off at 7.30 pm, with the winners advancing to the Final on 30 May,” read the statement.
“The Unity Cup returns to The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic FC, where the tournament was previously staged in 2004.
“The event has grown into a unique celebration of football, culture and diaspora identity, bringing together proud nations and passionate communities.”
ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi hailed the tournament as a pivotal development for the national game.
“The Unity Cup is a landmark moment for Zimbabwean football,” he said. “It reflects our ambition to compete, grow, and test our capabilities at an elite international level.”
Echoing these sentiments, Warriors Head Coach Marian Marinica welcomed the high-profile opportunity for his squad.
“This provides a robust platform for us as a team and serves as an important opportunity to represent Zimbabwe with pride on the global stage,” said Marinica.
Warriors Captain Marvelous Nakamba said that the players are prepared for the challenge. “It is always an honour to represent Zimbabwe, but playing in London in front of our supporters in the diaspora makes this occasion even more special,” Nakamba remarked.
ZIFA has called upon Zimbabweans residing in the United Kingdom and across Europe to rally behind the team and show their support in person at The Valley.
Tickets for the event are now available, with prices starting at £18, as the Warriors prepare to bring a taste of Zimbabwean football to the heart of London.
