The National Association of Schools Development Associations and Committees (NASDAC) has urged the government to take firm action against schools that withhold Advanced Level and Ordinary Level results because candidates have not paid fees or bus levies.

NASDAC president Max Mkandla expressed concern about schools denying learners access to their results over financial matters. He said:

“Schools must not use issues of bus levy to block learners from accessing their results.

“Children must not miss classes or be denied results because they owe school fees or bus levies.

“Worse still, some learners have left school without benefiting from the money they paid for bus levies.

“We cannot have learners denied access to their results simply because they failed to pay bus levies.”

Mkandla also criticised some teachers for focusing on private lessons to earn extra money due to low salaries.

He said that private lessons should be stopped and called on the government to pay teachers properly, so that all teaching can take place at school without placing extra financial burdens on parents.

ZIMSEC has released the November 2025 Advanced Level results, while the Ordinary Level results are expected in the coming weeks.

Some schools have withheld ZIMSEC results over unpaid fees to pressure parents and guardians to settle arrears, but the government has declared this practice illegal.
