Dynamos will begin their 2025 Chibuku Super Cup campaign in the preliminary round on Wednesday, 6 August, when they face Yadah at Ngoni Stadium in Norton. The fixture marks the start of what promises to be an action-packed edition of Zimbabwe’s premier knockout tournament.
The winner of the Dynamos/Yadah clash will go on to face Simba Bhora in the first round proper at Wadzanayi Stadium on Saturday, 9 August.
Dynamos, the defending champions, are looking to maintain their dominance in the competition, having lifted the trophy in the last two consecutive seasons.
Their back-to-back triumphs in 2023 and 2024 signalled a strong resurgence for the Harare giants, who had previously endured a nine-year drought in major domestic silverware.
The 2023 victory, a 2–0 win over Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab Stadium, not only secured the cup but also earned Dynamos a place in the CAF Confederation Cup. In 2024, they once again saw off Ngezi Platinum Stars, this time on penalties, to retain the title.
In the other preliminary round fixture, Triangle United are set to meet Kwekwe United at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane on Thursday, 7 August. The winner will advance to play Ngezi Platinum Stars in the first round on Sunday, 10 August.
Elsewhere in the first round of fixtures, MWOS will host CAPS United at Ngoni Stadium on Saturday, 9 August. On the same day, TelOne take on Bikita Minerals at Ascot Stadium, while FC Platinum face Manica Diamonds at Mandava Stadium.
The following day, Sunday, 10 August, Scottland will square off against Greenfuel at Sakubva Stadium. Ngezi Platinum Stars, meanwhile, will face the winner of the Triangle United versus Kwekwe United fixture.
However, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced the postponement of two matches originally scheduled for Nyamhunga Stadium on 11 and 12 August.
The matches, ZPC Kariba versus Chicken Inn and Herentals versus Highlanders, have been deferred due to the unavailability of the venue, which will host the Kariba District Heroes Day commemorations during the same period.
PSL Communications and Media Liaison Officer Kudzai Bare confirmed the postponements on Monday, 4 August, adding that new dates and venues for the affected fixtures will be announced once alternative arrangements are finalised.
