ZANU PF Cancels Politburo Meeting At The 11th Hour

The ruling ZANU PF party has postponed a politburo meeting that was scheduled for this Wednesday at the party’s national headquarters in Harare.

In a statement, the party’s Secretary for Information and Publicity Simon Khaya Moyo said members will be advised of the new date. He said:

The Secretary for Administration Cde Dr O.M Mpofu wishes to advise all Politburo members that the meeting that was scheduled for today, 10 February 2021 has been postponed to a later date.

All members will be advised of the new date.

The postponement comes a day after the death of Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Mozambique, Lieutenant General (Retired) Douglas Nyikayaramba.

In his condolence message on Tuesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa revealed that Nyikayaramba succumbed to COVID-19 related complications at St Annes Hospital in Harare. He said

When we got to know that he had been admitted to the hospital, our hopes and expectations were for his speedy recovery and return to station in Mozambique at the end of his vacation here at home.

Regrettably, that was not to be as he succumbed to Covid-19 related complications.
