Dynamos Football Club have confirmed Aristică Cioabă as their new substantive head coach, ending weeks of speculation over his role.
The Romanian initially joined the Glamour Boys as technical director while the club dealt with the suspension of former head coach Genesis Mangombe.
He has since taken charge on the touchline, overseeing wins against Agama and MWOS, as well as the remaining minutes of the abandoned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixture against Hardrock.
A short statement posted on DeMbare’s social media pages on Wednesday morning confirmed Cioabă’s appointment as head coach.
The club posted: “Munhu wese kubhora to welcome our coach. Let’s give our new coach the welcome he deserves. Fill Rufaro and back the Glamour Boys from the first whistle to the last.”
The announcement is the clearest confirmation yet that Cioabă has been handed the role permanently, with Dynamos urging supporters to turn out in numbers to welcome him at Rufaro Stadium.
He will now be expected to build on his positive start as he looks to steer the Glamour Boys up the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table in the second half of the season.
Dynamos, who flirted with relegation in the second half of the 2025 season, surprisingly sit third on the log with 40 points from 22 matches, nine points behind leaders Scottland.
