The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has cut local fuel prices after a fall in global oil prices. The drop follows easing tensions in the Middle East, which had earlier caused oil prices to spike.

On Wednesday, 8 July 2026, ZERA announced that diesel will now sell for US$1.87 per litre, while petrol drops to US$1.93.

Before the latest change, diesel was US$1.99 per litre and petrol was US$1.98. In early June, diesel cost US$2.09, and petrol was US$2.08.

“The petroleum prices are effective from 08 July 2026 for a period of two weeks. Government interventions continue to cushion consumers from the impact of global geopolitical developments,” ZERA announced in a notice on Wednesday night.

“The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio is at E20. Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations.”
