Marange Man, 38, Dies After Drinking Sexual Enhancement Mixture

A 38-year-old man from Muedzengwa Village, under Chief Marange, has died after allegedly consuming a herbal concoction believed to enhance sexual performance.

The deceased, Christopher Mutindori, is said to have drunk the mixture on 4 July 2026 after he and his friend, Pardon Mutema, 35, approached Robert Maphosa, 45, a self-proclaimed herbalist, seeking a sexual enhancement remedy.

The two men allegedly asked Maphosa for a herbal concoction purported to improve sexual performance. Shortly after drinking it, Mutindori complained of weakness before collapsing and dying.

Officers from ZRP Marange attended the scene. Mutindori’s body was taken to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Confirming the incident, acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka warned members of the public against consuming unverified herbal concoctions.

“We urge members of the public not to consume concoctions whose contents and safety are unknown. People should only use medicines and herbal products that have been properly verified, as taking untested substances can have fatal consequences,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.
