Musician and social media personality Malloti and her husband, Ezbornwage Chidamajaya, better known as Hulengende, have been linked to a road accident in Kariba that left an expecting mother injured.
The chaos began after Malloti, whose real name is Millicent Tsitsi Chimonyo, was allegedly pelted with stones by revellers after a performance.
Witnesses said the commotion caused panic in the crowd. A pregnant woman reportedly ran and fell on the road as Malloti prepared to drive away from the scene.
The woman was knocked down and rushed to the hospital, where she was admitted.
ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the case to H-Metro. He said officers are investigating the circumstances around the crash and the events that led up to it.
“Police are carrying out a comprehensive investigation linking a local musician to a road traffic accident in Kariba,” Comm Nyathi said.
“The musician was reported to have clashed with revellers at a show, leading to a commotion. One of the revellers, and the expecting mother, was injured.”
He added that investigations show a white vehicle, believed to have been driven by the musician, was involved in the accident.
“The musician was later stopped while she was in Karoi in a blue vehicle,” Comm Nyathi said. “Investigations are continuing with a view to ascertaining what actually transpired.”
