Police have launched an investigation into a double murder in Nyamandlovu, Lupane, on 6 June 2026, after two brothers died following a violent row over a funeral parlour pamphlet.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said preliminary investigations show that one of the brothers had been given a pamphlet containing information on how to join a funeral service scheme.

Nyathi said an argument then broke out, with one brother accusing the other of planning to join a Satanic cult.

“During the altercation, one brother allegedly struck the other several times on the head with a log,” he said.

“The injured victim was later offered shelter by a friend and was found dead the following day.

“On the same date, the other brother was found lying dead under a tree with bruises all over his body.

“Investigations into the circumstances surrounding both deaths are underway.”
