Rehabilitation of a section of Seke Road near Chitungwiza will begin on Monday, 4 May 2026 and is expected to take eight weeks, the Chitungwiza Municipality has announced.

The works will cover a 3.5km stretch from the Velvet Fuel Station junction in Unit G to the Unit H junction, Chitungwiza’s acting town clerk, Japson Nemuseso, said on Thursday.

Nemuseso said, “Chitungwiza Municipality wishes to advise all road users, businesses operating on road servitudes, and other stakeholders of an upcoming eight-week road rehabilitation project along Seke Road.

“The works will cover a 3.5-kilometre stretch from the Velvet Fuel Station junction in Unit G to the Unit H junction.

“The resurfacing works have been contracted to Moresurface Investments by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development. The contractor is expected to be on site starting Monday, 04 May 2026, to commence works.

“As part of the project, the contractor will establish a campsite at the driving school grounds near Zuva Fuel Station.

“Accordingly, all individuals and businesses operating along the servitude within this stretch are advised to vacate the area to allow for the smooth and efficient execution of the works.

“All road users and stakeholders are encouraged to cooperate with the contractor and adhere to any guidance provided to ensure the project is completed safely and within the stipulated timeframe.”
