United States-based Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe has donated football kits to youth teams Real Stars and Tigers FC in Makokoba, Bulawayo.
The kits, for players in the Under-13 to Under-17 age groups, were handed over at 11th Street Ground through the Teenage Hadebe Foundation.
“We want to thank him for remembering where he came from; his football journey did not start at Highlanders, it started here in these dusty pitches, so for him to remember that it means a lot,” Dumisani Hadebe said.
“This is massive for us, for young boys, little things matter. These kits ensure that we are all uniform and no one is left behind or segregated because they do not have good training gear; we have everything,” said Real Stars Director, Clemence Chimimba.
“Training kits to playing kits for three age groups are a major boost for us because we want to ensure that these youngsters are consistently occupied so that they do not have time for drugs,” added Chimimba.
This is not the first time Hadebe has extended a helping hand to the Makokoba community, where he began his football journey.
The Warriors defender also hosts an annual youth tournament in Bulawayo, where he donates kits and equipment to local community teams.
