According to a statement released on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, these figures represent 88% of the total US Dollar payments and 83% of the local currency payments owed.

“This vital funding by the Treasury brings much-needed relief to farmers. The support underscores the Government’s steadfast commitment to agriculture, a key sector driving Zimbabwe’s economy, said Badarai.

“The Board extends its gratitude to the Hon. Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Dr A. J. Masuka, for his tireless efforts in securing Treasury support.

“GMB remains dedicated to partnering with farmers to enhance national food security.”
