Haulage Truck Crashes Into A House In Mutare – Miraculously, No One Injured

Several people, including a haulage truck driver and a passenger, narrowly escaped death after a truck lost control and crashed into a home in Fairbridge Park, Mutare, on 1 April 2026.

The accident happened around 6 AM as the truck descended a steep, winding road at Christmas Pass. It first hit a Honda Fit near the BP Service Station, dragged another vehicle about 10 metres, uprooted a tree, and finally smashed into a residential property.

Eyewitnesses told The Manica Post that the crash occurred when a private car cut off the truck as it was leaving the service station. The driver swerved to avoid a collision, but ended up veering off the road and into the residential area.

Property owner Sean Smith said his tenants were lucky to survive. “They’d just stepped into the bathroom moments before the truck smashed into the house,” he said.

No serious injuries were reported, but the incident left damage to both vehicles and the home.
