The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has dismissed rumours of an imminent fuel price hike, saying the speculation is unfounded.

In a notice issued on 20 March 2026, the authority said fuel prices remain unchanged from those announced on 18 March, with diesel at US$2.05 per litre and petrol at US$2.17.

ZERA stressed that all operators must stick to the stipulated prices, warning that selling above the regulated cap or hoarding fuel is a violation of the law.

The authority also said there is enough fuel in the country, with monitoring teams on the ground to ensure smooth distribution and compliance across service stations.

ZERA further reminded operators that displaying fuel prices is mandatory and must be clearly visible to motorists.
