All high schools in Zimbabwe are expected to start Lower Sixth classes in the first week of February, following the release of the 2025 ZIMSEC Ordinary Level results on 16 February 2026.
In a circular sent to all provinces on Tuesday, Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Lameck Mudyiwa, said schools, parents, guardians, and learners should be ready for the start of classes. Said Mudyiwa:
“The commencement date for the 2026 Lower Sixth classes is Monday, February 2, 2026.
“Please, ensure that all heads of schools, teachers, parents and the pupils are advised of this date.
“The fees payable by the Lower Sixth pupils will be on a pro-rata basis, according to the approved Term One fees for each school, given by the following formula: number of days remaining in Term One 2026 times total approved Term One fees.”
