The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has arrested self-proclaimed prophet Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, over his claims of a predicted global flood that sparked widespread fear and panic.
Ebo Noah was taken into custody on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, after weeks of public concern over his activities and pronouncements.
He first grabbed attention in August 2025, claiming he had received a divine message to build modern-day arks to save people from a three-year global flood.
He said the disaster would begin on 25 December 2025 and urged people to prepare by coming to his designated site.
Hundreds of followers, including some from neighbouring countries, reportedly abandoned their homes and travelled to the site with personal belongings, raising serious security and humanitarian concerns.
For months, Ebo Noah shared videos on social media showing the construction of wooden structures, which he described as arks and claimed were the only way to survive the coming disaster.
When the predicted flood did not occur on Christmas Day, he released another video saying his prayers and fasting had caused God to delay the disaster.
Public outrage grew after he appeared on stage at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert, telling the crowd to celebrate because the doom had been postponed.
His appearance sparked a strong backlash online, with many accusing him of misleading the public and calling for his arrest.
In response, the GPS banned fake prophecies likely to cause fear and panic ahead of 31 December Cross Over services and warned that anyone making such claims will be prosecuted.
