Zimbabwe international Daniel Msendami, whose stock has been rising during the ongoing 2025 AFCON finals, has confirmed he is aware of transfer rumours linking him to South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
The 25-year-old is in his second season with Marumo Gallants, having joined the South African club from Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy in July 2024.
Although he has scored just once in 16 appearances in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership and failed to score or assist in his two AFCON appearances, Msendami has nonetheless attracted interest from the Soweto clubs.
Speaking to the media in Morocco, Msendami, who enters the final six months of his Gallants contract expiring in June 2026, said:
“We play to reach the top league and play for big teams. I’ll definitely keep pushing, push very hard, and hope that as time passes, I can get an offer to reach a higher level and showcase my talent.
“For me, the way I heard it was concrete [the interest from Chiefs and Pirates], but I didn’t put it in mind, because if they were really interested in me, they were going to take me…
“So, I’ll keep pushing, go where I’m needed, and work very hard to score more goals in the league and keep playing like this.
“My contract is expiring soon, but I’m not yet clear on what’s happening. I’ll keep on pushing.”
