Two more people were killed on Monday evening in Bhosha Village, in the Magaya area of Guruve, Mashonaland Central, pushing the death toll from a recent wave of violent attacks in the district to more than a dozen.

The latest victims were a mother and her daughter, who was a Form Three pupil. A younger child survived the attack after hiding under a bed.

Mashonaland Central provincial police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the incident, saying investigations are underway and that further details will be released in due course.

Police have intensified a manhunt for the main suspect, Anymore Zvitsva (32), who is believed to be operating with accomplices.

What began as isolated killings in October has since developed into a disturbing pattern of nighttime attacks across Guruve.

The violence has spread fear throughout the district, forcing many families to flee their homes and sleep in groups at designated safe houses for protection.
