A 35-year-old woman from Beitbridge, Faith Dube, is alleged to have killed her father-in-law on Monday.

The incident took place in Tshishala Village, under Chief Matibe’s jurisdiction.

Dube reportedly confronted her father-in-law over his heavy drinking, which she said was affecting her marriage.

Detective Inspector Rachel Muteweri, spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Criminal Investigations Department (CID), confirmed that Dube is due to appear in court on 24 December 2025. Said Det-Insp Muteweri:

“Police arrested a Beitbridge woman for murder, and she will be presented in court on Wednesday.”

In an unrelated development, a 26-year-old woman, Patience Madula, was allegedly killed by her husband, Brighton Kahlanga, 31, in Chinyama Village, Gweru, on 20 December 2025, following claims of infidelity.

According to Zimbabwe Republic Police Midlands spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, Madula suffered deep cuts to her body during the attack.

The incident reportedly took place around 11 PM while Kahlanga’s mother was at the house. Fearing for her life, she ran from the scene.

During the confrontation, Kahlanga is said to have called his brother-in-law, threatening to kill Madula and then himself, claiming she had been unfaithful.

By the time the brother-in-law arrived, Madula was found unconscious in a pool of blood, while Kahlanga had already fled.
