Harare City Football Club is reportedly set to make a return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) following the City of Harare’s acquisition of the PSL franchise of newly promoted Marondera side FC Hunters.

Reports indicate that the agreement was signed on 11 December at Town House. The deal is a hybrid arrangement under which FC Hunters’ shareholders will receive a combination of cash and parcels of land from the Harare City Council.

Once finalised, the transaction will bring an end to FC Hunters’ short-lived tenure in the top flight, just weeks after the club earned promotion as champions of the 2025 Pacific Storm ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League.

Their title win marked Marondera’s first-ever representation in Zimbabwe’s top-tier football since independence in 1980, secured with a 2–1 victory over Tenax FC at Rudhaka Stadium in October.
