The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has unveiled a rebranded National Highway Patrol, introducing five high-powered Double-Cab Ford Ranger vehicles to monitor the country’s roads during the festive season and beyond.

The initiative was launched by ZRP Commissioner-General Stephen Mutamba in Harare on Thursday, 11 December.

According to the ZRP, the vehicles will be operated by teams equipped with body-worn cameras as part of an enhanced electronic traffic management system.

The police have urged members of the public to report any reckless or dangerous driving to the patrol team for swift action. It said:

“Please make use of these new National Highway Patrol vehicles to make report once you come across the teams on the roads.”
