Dynamos have yet to receive their prize money for winning the 2025 Chibuku Super Cup. The Harare giants defeated Triangle United 1-0 in the final at Gibbo on 22 November and are due to collect US$75,000 for their triumph.

The club, which won the cup for a record third consecutive season, will also keep the silverware permanently. However, the prize money is on hold as Dynamos face a disciplinary hearing with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The charges relate to delaying the start of the final by 20 minutes after protesting the number of match balls provided. Dynamos and their technical staff are set to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee this week.

Dynamos have pleaded guilty and are now awaiting the decision on their penalty. If fined, the amount will be deducted from their prize money before the remainder is paid.

PSL chief executive Rodwell Thabe confirmed that Dynamos will receive their Chibuku Super Cup prize money once the disciplinary process is concluded. Said Thabe:

“We have paid everyone except Dynamos because they have a pending case, but we are not saying they will lose the case.

“It’s the procedure; we withhold the money when there is a pending judgment.

“The judgment will be delivered in the next few days, then they (Dynamos) will be paid their Chibuku Super Cup prize money.

“If they lose the case and they are fined, we will deduct the money (penalty) from their prize.”

Dynamos chairman Moses Maunganidze confirmed that the club has yet to receive its Chibuku Super Cup prize money. He said:

“We are yet to receive the funds, as to why, we are not sure. It’s something we have already put before the PSL to advise on the time-lines.”

Dynamos are in urgent need of funds to clear outstanding player bonuses.
