Dynamos and Highlanders, widely regarded as Zimbabwe’s two biggest football clubs, secured their Premier Soccer League status on Sunday, 23 November, surviving relegation on the final day of the 2025 Castle Lager PSL season.

Dynamos earned a crucial point in a goalless draw against FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium, while Highlanders also held their nerve, drawing 1-1 with Chicken Inn at Barbourfields Stadium.

Highlanders came from behind to secure the point they needed, with Andrew Mbeba’s superb second-half free-kick cancelling out Brian Muza’s early opener for the Gamecocks.

Both clubs went into the final fixtures needing to avoid defeat, and each did just enough to remain in the top flight.

Highlanders concluded the campaign in 11th place with 39 points, with Dynamos finishing 13th on the same tally.

Chicken Inn also preserved their top-flight status, finishing the campaign in 12th, also on 39 points.

The relegation battle, however, proved unforgiving for four clubs. GreenFuel, who ended the season in 15th place with 37 points, were relegated alongside Bikita Minerals, who also finished on 37 points but in 16th position.

Yadah, with 35 points in 17th place, and bottom-placed Kwekwe United, who managed only 10 points, also dropped out of the top tier.
