Several Feared Dead As Munenzva Bus Overturns On Masvingo–Beitbridge Road

Several people are feared dead after a Munenzva bus travelling from Harare to Cape Town, South Africa, overturned on Sunday evening.

In a brief statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that the accident occurred between 5 PM and 6 PM at the 155 km peg along the Masvingo–Beitbridge Road. The statement reads:

“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident involving a Munenzva bus travelling from Harare to Cape Town, which occurred at the 155 km peg along Masvingo–Beitbridge Road today (16/11/25) at around 1720 hours. More details will be released in due course.”

Images circulating on social media show the bus flipped upside down, its roof ripped open, wheels sticking up in the air, and metal smashed around a big tree. Luggage, broken seats, and personal items are scattered all over the scene.

Reports suggest that it was raining heavily, and the road was slippery at the time of the crash, which made driving risky, especially if the bus was speeding.
