Wicknell Chivayo has paid glowing tribute to veteran actor, scriptwriter and broadcaster Aaron Chiundura Moyo, praising him as a cultural icon whose work has shaped Zimbabwe’s film and arts industry for decades.

In a message shared on social media, Chivayo described Moyo as a “cultural architect” and “the G.O.A.T.,” crediting him with producing some of the country’s most memorable television works.

These include the acclaimed productions “Studio 263″, “Tiri Parwendo”, “Chiwoko Muhomwe” and “Zviri Mudendere”, all of which left a lasting impact on Zimbabwean television.

Chivayo also highlighted Moyo’s impressive literary contributions. With more than 20 Shona novels to his name, including “Wakandicheka Neraka Gomara” and “Nguwo Dzouswa”, Moyo’s books have become key texts within the national school curriculum, further cementing his influence on Zimbabwean culture and education. Wrote Chivayo:

“Yours is a very rare gift and talent from God. Continue to mentor the next generation of film producers, actors, artists, broadcasters and the young creative minds who aspire to reach your veteran heights of excellence.”

To honour Moyo’s lifetime of artistic excellence, Chivayo announced a generous gift: a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 GD6 along with US$50,000 in cash.

The vehicle, fully paid for, is to be collected from Exquisite Car Dealership in Harare, while the cash is intended “for fuel and to spoil yourself with an early Christmas,” Chivayo added.
