Alleged tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo has pledged a US$250,000 bonus to Scottland Football Club following their 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title win.
Scottland clinched the championship with two games to spare after thrashing Kwekwe United 5-1 at Ascot Stadium in Gweru on Sunday.
The victory put the team on an unassailable 65 points, seven clear of second-placed MWOS, with two matches remaining.
Taking to his social media accounts, Chivayo said he would personally deliver the cash to the team on Saturday, describing it as “a small token” and “an early Christmas gift.” Wrote Chivayo:
“In recognition of this massive, history-breaking achievement, and for your exemplary leadership and passion for the game of football, I invite the team captain and the team manager to come and see me personally on Saturday to collect US$250,000 as a small token of my appreciation and to share it with the entire team, the coach, and the technical staff. This is a well-deserved victory and an early Christmas gift to you.”
Chivayo also promised to continue investing in the club to make it a dominant force not only in Zimbabwe but across the African continent.
He jokingly added that he hopes to make Scottland FC appealing to European stars such as Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.
