FC Hunters Crowned ZIFA Eastern Region Champions, Secure PSL Promotion

FC Hunters have been crowned champions of the 2025 ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League, earning promotion to the 2026 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

The achievement marks a historic first for the town of Marondera, which will now boast its very own Premiership team since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980.

The title was confirmed following a 2-1 victory over local rivals Tenax FC in the penultimate league match, held at Rudhaka Stadium on Sunday.

Heading into the encounter, the sides were separated by just two points. The win propelled FC Hunters to an unassailable five-point lead at the top of the table, with one round of fixtures remaining next weekend.
