Marumo Gallants winger Daniel Msendami has been called up to the Warriors squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa, on Monday evening.
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) said on Monday that Msendami joins the camp as a replacement for Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who is still recovering from an injury. ZIFA said:
“The Warriors family stands together through every challenge and every triumph.
“The technical team has confirmed that Daniel Musendami joins the camp to replace Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who continues to recover from an injury that has not fully healed.
“We salute Thandolwenkosi for his commitment and wish him a strong recovery, his spirit remains with us.
“At the same time, we warmly welcome Daniel. His energy, determination, and team spirit will inject fresh life into the Warriors as we gear up for the Lesotho showdown.
“This is what makes our Warriors unbreakable, when one falls, another rises for the flag.”
After nine matches and five draws, the Warriors remain the only team in Group C yet to record a win in the ongoing qualifiers.
Zimbabwe’s 0-0 draw with South Africa in Durban on Friday has given fans hope that victory is within reach ahead of the final qualifier against Lesotho.
Lesotho, currently second from bottom in the group with nine points, will be looking to complete a rare double over Zimbabwe after winning the reverse fixture 2-0 in Johannesburg.
