Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) President Nqobile Magwizi has been appointed to the FIFA Commercial and Marketing Advisory Committee, a development seen as a major boost for Zimbabwe’s football administration.
The appointment, made in line with FIFA’s Statutes and Governance Regulations, will see Magwizi serve a four-year term from 2025 to 2029.
The FIFA Commercial and Marketing Advisory Committee advises the world football governing body on key areas such as sponsorship, broadcasting rights, branding, and global partnerships — all aimed at strengthening football’s commercial growth and sustainability.
Magwizi’s inclusion on the committee marks a major milestone for Zimbabwean football, which is rebuilding its international relations following years of administrative challenges and suspension from FIFA activities. Speaking on his appointment, Magwizi said:
“It is an honour to represent Zimbabwe and Africa at this level of world football administration.
“This appointment is not only a personal milestone but a reflection of the strides we are making as a nation to reassert our place within the global football family.
“I look forward to contributing meaningfully to FIFA’s commercial and marketing vision and ensuring that the interests of developing football nations are well represented.”
