A 13-year-old girl from Chitungwiza was raped by two men in different locations on the same night after running away from her aunt’s disciplinary punishment.
According to H-Metro, the girl was first assaulted in an abandoned house in Manyame Park, followed by another attack by an unidentified man in a nearby bush shortly after the first incident.
Earlier that day, the girl had reportedly stolen her aunt’s perfume and fled home after her aunt threatened to punish her for it.
Around 8 PM, she returned home but found the dogs outside their kennel, prompting her to seek a place to sleep outside.
By 10 PM, she went to Manyame Park, where she encountered a man who pulled her into an unused house and raped her without protection before fleeing the scene.
Afterward, the girl wandered around Limbani Shops in Zengeza 5 and eventually found a spot to sit down.
While she was seated, two men approached her. One of them dragged her into a nearby bush and raped her without protection. She spent the night at Limbani Shops.
The next morning, on October 1, a woman approached her and took her to her aunt’s house, where she disclosed the assaults.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed that the case is under investigation by the police.
He added that the minor was taken to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for a medical examination.
