The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Electoral Committee has confirmed that preparations for the 2025 ZIFA Members’ Elections are officially underway.
In a statement, ZIFA said the elections will be carried out in full compliance with the ZIFA Statutes, adopted in October 2024, as well as FIFA directives requiring democratic governance across all football structures.
According to Article 12 (1) of the ZIFA Statutes, the electoral process will cover executive committees for a range of leagues and associations, including Men’s and Women’s Regional Division One Leagues, Men’s Provincial Leagues, the Beach Soccer Football Association, the Futsal Football Association, and Area Zones. Part of the statement reads:
“The election process begins on 6 October 2025 with the opening of nominations for all eligible structures, including Area Zones, Beach Soccer, Futsal, Provincial, Women’s Regional, and Men’s Regional Leagues. Nominations will close on 21 October 2025 in line with the ZIFA Electoral Code.
“Candidates will be notified of the outcomes of the vetting process on 29 October 2025, followed by a deadline of 6 November 2025 for the submission of any missing documentation.
“The Electoral Committee will communicate decisions of the first instance to candidates by 7 November 2025, after which an appeal period will run from 8 to 16 November 2025.
“The final list of candidates, following the resolution of appeals, will be published on 22 November 2025.
“The elections themselves will take place between 6 and 15 December 2025, phased over two weekends across the different regions.”
The ZIFA Electoral Committee has assured that the upcoming elections will be conducted fairly, transparently, and fully in line with FIFA and ZIFA electoral principles.
The committee urged all participants to engage constructively and follow the official roadmap, as part of the wider effort to rebuild governance across Zimbabwean football.
Nomination forms are available for collection at the ZIFA office at Tendeseka Office Park in Eastlea, Harare, or can be downloaded from the ZIFA website.
