A Bulawayo man has been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of dealing in dangerous drugs, including crystal meth.
The Bulawayo Regional Magistrates’ Court found 39-year-old Tyron Siegfried Pigors, of Matsheumhlope, guilty of selling crystal meth.
On 6 March 2025, detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics unit raided Pigors’ home on Chelmsford Road following a tip-off about drug dealing.
During the search, officers discovered a safe disguised as a “New English Dictionary” under his bed containing sachets of crystal meth and two digital scales.
A blue metal trunk in the spare bedroom contained 17 medium sachets of crystal meth inside a Lobels biscuits box, 11 large sachets in a Puma shoe box, and a glass kitchen scale.
The total weight of the drugs was 1.260 kilograms, with a street value of approximately US$6,300.
Pigors was sentenced to eight years in prison, with three years suspended for five years, leaving an effective term of five years behind bars.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) stressed that crystal meth is highly addictive, poses serious health risks, and fuels violent crime.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to prosecuting drug traffickers and keeping dangerous substances out of Zimbabwean communities.
