Three Killed, Two Injured In Head-On Collision On Harare–Bulawayo Road

Three people were killed and two others injured in a road accident which occurred at the 342 km peg along the Harare–Bulawayo Road on Thursday.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that a blue Honda Fit carrying three passengers collided with a white Isuzu. The Honda was travelling towards Harare when the Isuzu veered into its lane.

The three passengers in the Honda Fit died on the spot, while the two injured were taken to Mpilo Hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Gweru Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

In a separate tragedy, four artisanal miners lost their lives in a mining accident at Chengxi Gold Mine in Shurugwi on 4 September 2025.

According to the ZRP, the miners, who were searching for gold in an abandoned mineshaft, became trapped when the shaft collapsed.

Their bodies were recovered and transported to Gweru Provincial Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
