Two Dead, Ten Injured As Overloaded Honda Fit Crashes In Nyanga

Two people died and ten others sustained injuries when an overloaded Honda Fit was involved in a crash at the 48-kilometre peg along the Nyanga–Rwenya Road around 5 PM on Thursday.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the accident, saying the vehicle, which was carrying 11 passengers, veered off the road before overturning and landing on its roof.

The Honda Fit had 12 people on board, including the driver, at the time of the accident. Police said:

“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 21/08/25 at around 1700 hours at the 48 kilometre peg along Nyanga–Rwenya Road.

“Two people were killed while 10 others were injured when a Honda Fit with 11 passengers on board veered off the road before overturning and landing on its roof.

“The bodies of the victims were taken to Nyanga District Hospital mortuary for post mortem while the injured were referred to Regina Coeli Mission Hospital for treatment.”
