Dynamos have suspended head coach Saul Chaminuka without pay or benefits, citing an alleged breach of the club’s employment code of conduct.
The decision follows a meeting between the club’s executive and Chaminuka on Thursday, during which the team’s recent poor performance and concerns over the coach’s conduct were discussed.
In a statement, the club confirmed that Chaminuka has been barred from accessing all club facilities while the matter is under review.
This comes just a day after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) fined the coach US$4,000 and handed him a two-match touchline ban following a disciplinary hearing.
Chaminuka was charged after he caused the abandonment of the match between Dynamos and FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium on 22 June 2025.
The coach ordered his players off the pitch in protest at a contentious penalty awarded against his team when the score was level at 1–1.
His actions, along with post-match comments in which he accused match officials of bias, were found to have brought the game into disrepute.
A letter dated 25 July 2025 and signed by Dynamos Secretary General Webster Marechera formally notified Chaminuka of the suspension. The letter reads:
On 24th July 2025, the Club Executive convened a meeting to discuss inter alia:
- Team performance since assumption of duty by Head Coach
- Head Coach’s conduct and behaviour during the course of discharge of duties.
