The state of the ๐—๐—ฒ๐—ธ๐—ฎ ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ด๐—ฒ in ๐— ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜„๐—ฎ, as of ๐Ÿณ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฑ, starkly contrasts with the substantial funds allocated for its construction.

In ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿด, the ๐—ญ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ด๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ announced a ๐—จ๐—ฆ$๐Ÿญ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฑ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป road rehabilitation initiative under the ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—œ๐—ป๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜€ (๐—ฃ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—ฃ) and the ๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐˜† ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฒ (๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ฅ๐—ฃ).

The funds were earmarked for five bridges, including ๐—๐—ฒ๐—ธ๐—ฎ. That means each bridge, on average, was set to receive about ๐—จ๐—ฆ$๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฑ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป.

The ๐—จ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ก๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ also contributed about ๐—จ๐—ฆ$๐Ÿณ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, bringing the total estimated funding for the ๐—๐—ฒ๐—ธ๐—ฎ ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ด๐—ฒ to roughly ๐—จ๐—ฆ$๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฎ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป.

Yet, despite this sizable investment, the bridge today remains a crude structure of logs and planksโ€”a makeshift crossing that endangers the lives of local villagers daily.

Children, the elderly, and even vehicles risk falling into the river below every time they cross.

This situation raises serious concerns about transparency, project oversight, and accountability.

Where did the millions go? Why does a bridge funded with more than ๐—จ๐—ฆ$๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฎ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป resemble a temporary footpath built by the community itself?

๐—๐—ฒ๐—ธ๐—ฎ ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ด๐—ฒ is not just infrastructureโ€”it is a lifeline for the people of ๐— ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜„๐—ฎ, linking them to clinics, schools, and markets.

The current state of the bridge reflects a bigger story about governance, development, and the promises made to Zimbabweans.

This bridge must be fixed to standard, corrections should be done so it serves its purpose going forward, there is no time to look at what happened if a vital link is looking like this right now. I hope the Honorable Minister will make a quick fix on this Bridge sooner.

Zanu of is a joke in SA with a R75 million they can fix and re do a road from Pretoria ato Joburg but in Zim they use 25 times more of that amount just to build a bridge not even up to standard in rural areas corruption is just out of hand something seriously needs to be done sooner than later. We also need this to be done by really Zimbabweans not these Foreigners as our Leaders
