Gokwe North District Hospital HR Officer In Corruption Scandal
Gokwe North District Hospital Human Resources (HR) officer, Mr Isaac Nyakura has been accused of corruption and abuse of office after he allegedly recruited people on nepotism grounds.
Early last month, the HR officer corruptly hired Munashe Nhongera as ancillary staff despite the fact that she was the second-best in the interviews.
Munashe went through the process of preparing for employment in Government and assumed her duty on 17 May only to be stopped on the 27th of the same month, ten days after assuming duty, without apparent reason.

Merely days after Munashe stopped work, a man named Mr Mubhedha assumed duty at the hospital although he had not attended the interviews.

It is believed that Mr Mubhedha used a forged Red Cross certificate, bought in Kwekwe by Mr Nyakura, to be hired as a nurse aide.
Mr Mubhedha who is currently working as a security guard, allegedly to disguise the general public, reportedly paid Mr Nyakura $US300 to get the job.
Mr Nyakura is also accused of criminally abusing his office by employing his relatives.
Reports suggest that last year, the HR officer employed his wife’s brother, Boniface Sithole and is also said to have hired his first wife as a general hand.
Mr Nyakura was part of the panel that interviewed his wife thereby violating the principles of administrative law that demands individuals to recuse themselves in cases where there is likely to be a conflict of interest.
The HR officer is also alleged to be demanding $US100 from those who aspire to get work within the district. Pindula News source said:
_There is irrefutable evidence to that effect._
_It is also known that there are some people who are aspiring to get employed who have already paid Mr Nyakura in advance,and there are some who paid him but were never employed. Some of them were duped and were part of the indoor residual spray team last year._
Corruption is believed to be one of the leading factors destroying Zimbabwe, a once vibrant economy.
