Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Philip Valerio Sibanda on Tuesday condemned government officials who are engaged in corrupt activities, something which he said is against the ethos of the liberation struggle.
General Sibanda made the remarks while paying tribute to the late national hero Stanley Nleya, one of the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA) commanders during the liberation struggle who succumbed to a heart ailment at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) on Tuesday last week.
General Sibanda said, “when we were out there, we were taught [to share everything equally], and this remained the position after independence when some of us became wayward… ”
