Health and Child Care Minister Obadiah Moyo was conspicuous by his absence during Tuesday’s post-cabinet media briefing after his arrest for alleged corruption.
Moyo was arrested last week and is currently out on $50 000 bail following revelations that the government lost millions of dollars in foreign currency under his watch in shady deals involving criminals.
Addressing a post-cabinet media briefing, Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa refused to shed light on Moyo’s fate in the government. She said:

Zimbabwe’s health sector has been in disarray since last year when doctors and nurses downed tools citing poor working conditions, with hundreds of doctors subsequently fired for the job action.
Nurses and doctors are on strike again in protest against high levels of corruption and poor salaries.
