A Zimbabwean Man Fatally Assaults His Friend Over Cab Fare Change In Namibia, Tries To Flee Back To Zimbabwe

Namibian Police have arrested a 41-year-old man over assaulting his friend with a brick killing him instantly. Legton Meki fatally assaulted Botham Chipuriro after the cab driver they had hired gave change to Chipuriro who had not paid for the cab.

Meki was nabbed as he was trying to flee Namibia

According to Namibia’s Warrant Officer Frieda Shikole:

Indications are that the two Zimbabweans (both male) were passengers in a taxi they hired from Ondangwa. Along the way, the suspect paid the taxi fee on behalf of the deceased, but the driver gave the change to the wrong man and an argument ensued.

The argument resulted in a fistfight between the two men when they got to their destination. During the fight, Meki allegedly picked a brick and repeatedly assaulted his compatriot in the face and head. He then disappeared from the crime scene on foot

This cames barely a week after 3 Zimbabwean were arrested for allegedly killing a 10-year-old girl and burning her body before trying to flee Namibia after committing the crime.
