Month On Month Inflation Marginally Drops

Month-on-month inflation last month shed a marginal 0.91%, The Chronicle reports it closed the year at 16,55% after dropping from 17.46% in November according to the Zimstats:

The month-on-month inflation rate in December 2019 was 16,55 percent shedding 0,91 percentage points on the November 2019 rate of 17,46 percent.

This means that prices as measured by the all items Consumer Price Index increased by an average rate of 16,55 percent from November 2019 to December 2019.

According to the Finance Minister, monthly inflation is expected to fall to single-digit figures in 2020’s first quarter.
