Iraq Parliament Meeting On Ousting US Troops From Military Bases

The Parliament of Iraq was expected to meet this Sunday to decide on ousting USA troops from their military bases in the Middle East country.

The development follows a late Saturday missile attack in Bagdhad where the USA embassy is located.

Although no one has claimed responsibility, it is believed that pro-Tehran factions in Iraq carried out the attack to avenge the death of Iranian and Iraqi commanders who were killed by an American airstrike.

The strike also comes after a hardline pro-Iran faction in the Hashed called Kataeb Hezbollah has urged Iraqis to move away from US forces. The group said:

We ask security forces in the country to get at least 1,000 meters away from US bases starting on Sunday at 5:00pm (1400 GMT).

The USA has already sent thousands of troops and has suspended some training sessions to support troops who were already in the Middle East t protect its citizens and those of its allies.
