PICTURES: Nostalgic Zim Newspaper Adverts From The 80s and 90s

A set of adverts cut out from newspapers in the 80s is being shared widely on WhatsApp. Some of the adverts are for products that have since been discontinued or whose popularity has declined significantly such as Bata’s Sandak, Dairibord’s glass-bottled fresh milk, Coldpower washing power, Tarino, and the Bubblegummers shoes.

Some of the products, such as Mazoe, Tanganda Tea and Chibuku are strong brands even today.

  1. EVERYTHING in these advertisements is Rhodesian related. Can we see some Zimbabwe related advertising? I bet there isn’t any!
